We are passionate about indigenous art and culture and growing a high quality indigenous Australian art collection.
Paspalis is committed to growing a high quality indigenous Australian art collection.
The collection’s history dates back to the early 1960’s when famous artist’s from Port Keats, Inji, Mardigan and Nym Bunduk painted and gifted a beautiful set of ochre paintings to Michael Paspalis MBE for their long stay at the old Hotel Darwin.
Today, the collection has evolved in to a diverse selection of indigenous works by both prominent and emerging indigenous artists from across the country.
Highlights include the historical Port Keats paintings, Judy Watson, Harold Thomas and emerging artsists Maath Maralngurra and Kieran Karritpul.
“Aboriginal art and innovation share that one magical common thread, the spirit of dreaming.”
